One of the frequent install problems we have with the SDK is that users have bad downloads of our ISO file. Thankfully, there's a handy tool out on the Microsoft Downloads Center to check the file's integrity. The Microsoft File Checksum Integrity Verifier is a simple console app that checks the MD5 or SHA1 cryptographic hashes for files. It works on all OSs, including Windows Vista, and runs very quickly. To verify your ISO is of good quality, just compare the hash against the hash on the SDK download site, and you should be good to go.
If you know of another tool that does similarly great work, please post it as a comment.
