Robert Hogue has ported most of his samples to the Sept CTP.  I call these samples the "keys to 3D kingdom" because, while the samples may not knock you out aesthetically, they demonstrate techniques (morph meshing, video on 3D, animated 3D, databound 3D) that enable lots of the really gnarly features of Avalon.  Many of the cooler demos you may have seen of Avalon use techniques pioneered by RHogue.  Be sure to read the readme.txt files with each project, as he provides clues and insight into the code there.
