One of the big feature points of Silverlight is the creation of media rich applications, and of course the use of Silverlight in advertising solutions. But until today there was not much to be found as to documentation and guidelines on creating advertising banners and solutions. Now this has changed with the release of the Silverlight Advertising Creation Kit (link to download).
This kit provides documentation and sample projects. Following topics are handled in the document:
Sample projects are available to be used together with the documentation. The following types of samples are available:
Use the information and samples in this kit together with the Silverlight Ad Publishing and Serving Guide, another very good resource.
See also the official announcement on the Silverlight SDK blog.
Congratulations are due to our new and renewed MS Most Valuable Professionals!
Karine Bosch, MVP for SharePoint Server
I met Karine a few year ago when I was doing SharePoint development as well. She was then already quite active in the SharePoint community, having developed tools for CAML and SharePoint. She was the person working very closely with the late Patrick Tisseghem, a legend in the SharePoint field. In addition to that she’s a friend so I’m really proud to see her awarded the MVP status. It’s totally deserved.
Pieter Gheysens, MVP for Visual Studio Team System
Pieter is a very active member of the Visual Studio User Group in Belgium, and a very active blogger his two blogs: on .NET development and Visual Studio Team System. In my role of evangelist I work with the user group community on a very regular basis, it’s great to be able to work with someone that is so motivated. Glad to see all this work recognized with the award.
The MVP award gets renewed on a yearly basis. So every year, the award might or not be re-awarded. The following MVPs were renewed on April 1st 2009.
Kris van der Mast – ASP.NET Next I also wanted to congratulate Kris van der Mast who has been renewed as an MVP but on top of that made it to the ASP Insiders group! Congratulations Kris! In addition to that Kris reached the 100,000 recognition points on the ASP.NET Forums. Someone has really been busy!
