About Keith

Keith Smith is Group Program Manager of the Presentation Platform & Controls team at Microsoft Corporation in Redmond, WA. Keith joined Microsoft in 1998 as a software engineer on Microsoft Visual J++ where he was responsible for the Windows Foundation Classes Dynamic HTML controls. Keith’s ASP.NET involvement dates back to v1.0 when he was a member of the engineering team responsible for the core ASP.NET controls in addition to leading the team responsible for ASP.NET performance and stress testing. Keith also managed the VWD quality assurance engineering team.

Following the release of VS 2005 and ASP.NET 2.0, Keith moved to Developer Tools Marketing where he spent two years as a Group Product Manager driving overall marketing strategy and execution of creative programs that drive adoption of Microsoft’s Web platform and tools including Internet Information Services, ASP.NET, ASP.NET AJAX and Visual Studio for Web development. Keith served as Director of Product Management for the Expression Studio 2 release which included the launch of the Expression Professional Subscription.

Keith returned to engineering in August 2008, joining the Presentation Platform Controls team which is part of the .NET Development Platform. His team's charter is to deliver a panoply of UI controls and components for Silverlight and Windows Presentation Foundation.
