Why does it seem that every time I get on the phone I get an instant message from someone? We have an “on the phone” setting in our software but the only time I ever remember to set it is after the fact.
We just got a new phones in our office but they’re dumb—no VOIP, no integration with the PC, and what has to be the least tested UI in the history of consumer products. I can’t wait for when the phone rings and I can look for a Caller ID toast that works against my 1100 Outlook contacts, and uses some of the WinFS leveraging technology discussed at the PDC to determine if the call gets through or what voice message the caller hears, and ultimately switches my presence information to “on the phone” when I pick up the phone. Is that too much to ask?
