I think the conference ended before I thought it would -- box lunches on the last day. Overall, I think it was a great conference. The first time in a long time where I went to a conference and didn't have to work. Even more so, nothing blew up back...

I decided to take some time away from the sessions, and try to find a good wireless connection (the connection in the rooms is flaky -- I'd complain, but what did we do at conferences before wireless?) Developing PDA-based applications with Flash ...

MAXbloggers.net - Day 2: Keynote

You can always judge a conference by the music they play as people head in and out of the keynote. OK, a little superficial, but if this were really true -- this conference rocks! Yesterday - White Stripes, Propellerhead. Today - Jane's Addiction, Lunatic...

Learn something new every day -- there is a MAX Bloggers site . Using ASP.NET Web Services from DreamWeaver: What can I say, almost as easy as using them from VS Building Code-based RIAs (aka Intro to Flex): Flex: "Code you put on your...

This was a hands-on session. Sort of. Two people per table/computer, and a lecturer. Some presentation, then work through the lab exercises either with the instructor, or on your own, then play while he's talking (my technique). Flash has new 'connectors...

MAXBloggers.net - Day 1: Keynote

What can I say? I'm getting jaded with keynotes. They're typically a parade of old, recent and upcoming info, with the occasional partner trouted up to demonstrate the points. Main takeaways, however (write me if you want the full play-by-play notes...

I bought myself yet another gadget in the hopes that shallow commercialism would cheer me up. In the interests of public safety, and reaching out to the other gadget geeks I'm sure are out there, here are my first impressions (after only a couple of days...

No one has the domain, but I'm too lazy and cheap to go out and reserve it. I'm off this week at the Macromedia MAX conference in fine downtown Salt Lake City. I decided to emulate my heros ( one , two/three and four ) and attempt to blog some of what...

Paul Vick recalls/rewrites a classic Canadian commercial . I also am Mort. I have in the past agonized over that choice (for a 'non-Name' French reason ) of a name. However, I think if we "Take is as our own" it becomes a badge of honour. I have coded...
