&lt;p&gt;Please change your script as it will not work as is. &amp;nbsp;This worked for me:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;$account = Get-SPManagedAccount Domain\DomainAccount&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;$appPool = New-SPServiceApplicationPool -Name SubscriptionServiceAppPool -Account $account&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;$serviceApp = New-SPSubscriptionSettingsServiceApplication -ApplicationPool $appPool -name &amp;quot;Subscription Settings Service&amp;quot; -DatabaseName &amp;quot;Subscription_Settings_DB&amp;quot; &lt;/p&gt;
