A Midsummer Night's Dream at Everett Performing Arts Center

It's openng night!

Daniel opens as Demetrious in Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" tomorrow!

Songs like "Why do fools fall in love?," "Goin' to the Chapel," and "Love Potion #9" highlight the emotional narrative of this classic comedy of teen age romance and an elopement run amok. Enter the 1957 Athens High School gymnasium as students and faculty alike prepare for a magical prom night full of romance and mayhem. It's pure Shakespearean verse with poodle skirts, greasers, and cheerleaders.

  • Good luck Daniel!

  • Shakespeare wrote "Goin' to the Chapel"? Wow!

Well, you learn a new thing every day. Thanks! That's stopped me having to learn about dlsym in order to fill today's quota.

  • Of course Shakespeare wrote "Goin' to the Chapel".  Don't they teach people that these days?

Also "Don't be Cruel" and other hits.

  • They must have omitted that in English classes, or would that be music? ahh... That actually explains things.

Our head of music was a highly strung pretentious fart - and didn't really get on with anyone else in the school. (Which is probably why we had a music school in a separate building.) So there's no way they could ever have agreed on who was going to teach us about Shakespeare's musical career. I wonder what other pieces of knowledge slipped through the cracks owing to faculty politics.

Did Einstein have a dazzling career in sport? Or perhaps Music? (Was "Young Einstein" factually accurate then?) I shall never know.

You know, the problem with linux coding is that you've got to make your own entertainment. (That just struck me as being far funnier than I thought it was going to be.)

Seriously though, I admire the boy, break a leg and all that. (I was once told it was brake a leg, but could never get anyone to verify that.) My only time on stage I forgot to plug my guitar in (figured the problem just in time for my solo - everyone thought it was deliberate and it got a big laugh.) never again shall I set foot on stage, and I am in awe of acting types ever since.

  • omigod, it's little baby daniel....

Things like this make me wish I had the spare cash to just pop out and visit.

(Yes, I realize I'm way late, but I'm a slacker that way :-)

    Smooches as always.

  • Moose, Daniel's the young man in the checked shirt in the rear.  The actors are Joe, Sabrina, Daniel, and Olivia.

And you've got a room here whenever you want to come out.
