&lt;p&gt;but i think C# can never get the place of functional programming especially with pattern matching or higher order function&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;let add10=add 10;;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;add10 34;;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;val it -: 44;;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;can C# do that, no way i guess&lt;/p&gt;
