Loved this Periodic Table of Typefaces from SwissMiss

The Periodic Table works really well as a visual metaphor presumably because it sat on the wall of despised Chemistry lessons for most of our childhood. That kind of imagery is difficult to remove.

We’re using a similar periodic table style (sorta) to represent content types that the gang are producing:

Talking of visual metaphors, I was with a customer who has used the 5 Olympic Rings to represent the 5 missions they’re looking to achieve by 2012 (in time for the Olympics, geddit?). A cliché of course but actually it was the first time I’d seen it in use (which surprised me!). As soon as 2012 has passed, I’m sure we’ll see a whole bunch of “20:20 Vision”-type stuff.
