Well, spring is kinda here, but rowing is still a challenge on the Passaic. The wind is blasting down the river and, while sections are still rowable in a single, the changing conditions make it very frustrating and hard to do anything other than UT2 steady state type rowing with lots of stops.
Still cold enough to carry a PFD - I use a Yakima SOS inflatable PFD that is about the best I've found in terms of not restricting motion too much - I just tape the pull tab up into the vest a little so as to avoid catching it on the scull grip at the finish - that would be a bummer.
