Reminder for the agile practitioner: Management-Aided Software Engineering

Always tell the truth as you know it.

There are chances that “Unspoken Truths” creep around your project; as human beings, there are chances that you or other team member (including non-technical staff) are in denial, so make sure everyone remind to be approachable for the good and for bad news at all times, and to append objective data with each good or bad new.

Do you recall fiascos or tragedies where that practice was missing? Enron comes to mind, also NASA Challenger Space shuttle disaster.

I was reading some valuable essays by Sheila Brady and Tom DeMarco about the traits of software development; they provide hard-earned management advice and I wanted to share these thoughts.

-Winston Churchill
