I'm getting married this week, and I'm thrilled.

Props out to Match.com where I met my awesome fiancee!  It's so mainstream now to date online we don't even think about it.  But I remember when there was a huge stigma to "computer dating", part of the same backlash that killed disco and corduroy...except in the benighted North, of course :)

She (my fiancee) is Indian; the inevitable jokes about outsourcing have been made of course.  "If you can't beat'em, join'em" etc.  She was actually born in the US of immigrant parents so she's more American technically than I am (I was born in South Africa)--I'm naturalized...and still grateful for the welcome I get from my adopted country.

It's funny, I grew up on super-hot curry and other weird and wonderful Indian food, since there's such a huge Indian influence in South Africa...but she's leery of the hot curries I make :)
