Microsoft requires any vehicle parked on campus to be registered.  Visitors register with the receptionist where they're visiting; everyone else registers with Security.  I don't know what visitors get when they register, but employees get a numbered tag to hang from the rearview mirror.  Almost everyone just leaves these tags on their rearviews when they leave campus, which of course makes it easy to identify people who work at Microsoft.  I'm always amazed at how many of us there are everywhere -- five or six just on my half of my block!

For some reason I'm seeing these tags everywhere this week.  For some (possibly the same) reason my brain turned that into this:

[To the immortal tune of Bob Rivers' "There's Another Santa Claus"]

There's another Microsoftie, there's another Microsoftie, there's another Microsoftie there;
Yellow tags a-hanging, green tags a-swinging, blue tags everywhere.
Cars are coming, trucks are going, everywhere I look there's a tag
Shouting "Hey you look I work at Microsoft; that's how I can afford this Jag".

There's another Microsoftie, there's another Microsoftie, there's another Microsoftie there;
Who just bought that BMW or that black Porsche Carerre?
There's an H2 and a Prius and a giant RV;
One day I couldn't believe my eyes but there was a Lamborghini.

There's another Microsoftie, there's another Microsoftie, there's another Microsoftie there;
Why can't I Google to find out if that one's Scoble or Dare?
I hear Bill Gates drives a beater just for camouflage;
Even that helicopter has a parking tag but it's too big for the garage.

There's another Microsoftie, there's another Microsoftie, there's another Microsoftie there;
Somehow or other I have to finish this song before you all get scared.
I don't drive I take the bus; why don't you do the same?
Then these tags will all go away and the traffic will stop driving us insane!
