Microsoft’s 2010 Citizenship Report and Environmental Sustainability

  • Comments 1

imageEarlier this week the company issued our Microsoft 2010 Citizenship Report which provides insight on our approach and outlook on economic, social and environmental issues, as well as reporting on progress. The information gathered for the report’s Environmental Sustainability section was guided by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G3 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines.  One sub-section of the report entitled Responsible Environmental Leadership includes our updated carbon emissions, waste and supply chain information for calendar year 2009. The other sub-section,  Using IT to improve energy efficiency provides updates on our commitments to improve energy efficiency of IT in our own products and how we’re using IT to reduce energy use and address environmental problems.

To view the entire report, visit the online Microsoft 2010 Citizenship Report and you can also download a copy here.
