Big News from Scenario VPD - New Capabilities for AEC Project Management

  • Comments 0

Successful construction projects are born from successful project management.  Through our affiliation with Stanford University’s Center for Integrated Facilities Engineering (CIFE), we have had the pleasure of learning about some big news for project management in the AEC industry.  Scenario Virtual Project Delivery™ (Scenario VPD) has proudly just released its Communication, Collaboration and Control (C3) software system for the AEC industry.  Built on the SQL Server 2008 platform, and accessible through any web browser, this solution makes it easier for large project teams to manage and access all project and Building Information Modeling (BIM) data in real time.

In their own words:

“The revolutionary system allows building design and construction team members 24-7 access to live, integrated project data to maximize constructability, accountability and sustainability efforts.

The C3 system connects and allows real-time data access, collaboration and project management among project owners, architects, engineers, general contractors and subcontractors by utilizing a powerful, central server where all project and BIM data are stored and aggregated. The system is built upon the dependable SQL Server Database Platform.

Through defined processes and organization, AEC teams can effectively store and retrieve project information as it relates to their specific trade or to the overall project. Specific application capabilities include live project tracking, revision control, information routing and review of BIM and project documents. For example, this allows projects team members to maximize sustainability efforts by collecting data on and evaluating the sustainable elements throughout design, procurement, installation and operation.

The software system seamlessly interfaces with leading AEC software, such as Revit®, AutoCAD® 3D and Navisworks, via a native plug-in. This allows project team members to continue to work in their native software and communicate with other project team members using different software.

The robust SQL Server Database Platform enables C3 to perform real-time BIM and trade coordination, including live clash management, whether team members are working at the same location or geographically dispersed. Team members can also work offline and upload changes when reconnecting to the datacenter.”
