We’re excited to be at Hadoop Summit where we will showcase the progress Microsoft is making on Big Data through our partnership with Hortonworks.
Like Hortonworks, Microsoft is committed to an open Big Data platform with full compatibility with Apache Hadoop. At the O’Reilly Strata conference in February we showed how Microsoft is delivering an open Big Data platform in partnership with Hortonworks. Specifically we disclosed that Microsoft and Hortonworks had submitted a formal proposal to contribute back to the Apache Hadoop code base. We also highlighted our alliance with key Hadoop partners such as Karmasphere, Datameer and HStreaming who had ported their tools to run on Windows.
