Well I need an advise here, I been studying the previous book by craig, the book is based on server 2012 not R2. Should I continue with a book or I should just leave it and buy this one? Please help I'm writing in March.
Hey man, I spoke to someone at CBT and there a few changes... So I don't think you'll be able to pass the exam only using the "older" book you have now.. Sucks I know.
Hi! But you can only review the changes!
What is the new release date for the Training Guides: Installing and configuring Windows Server 2012 R2?
Sakile - I studied for the 2008 networking exam using the first edition of the MS Press book. I was getting 100% in practise exams so was really shocked to bomb on the real exam. Why did I fail? 2008 R2 included a few new features (e.g. Direct Access) and adaptive testing meant that - after I got one question on this wrong (I'd never heard of DA)- the exam kept hitting me with questions about DA that I couldn't answer... I had specifically checked the MS Learning website beforehand and there was no mention of the second edition book in the preparation materials so I was pretty annoyed. Anyway, working through the second edition book I found a number of small differences other than DA.
My advice? Buy the R2 edition and go over it referring to your original notes - you should already know most of the material but you really don't want to wing it with adaptive testing - it will nail you if there any gaps in your knowledge!
Snap, been there Anthony, going in fully prepared for 2008 then getting caught out with the 2008 R2 question, that was a very expensive lesson!
Is this book better than the Pearson study guide MCSA 70-410 Cert Guide R2: Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012 (Certification Guide) Hardcover –
