Ever had an idea for an app, game, or great bit of technology - but not had the time or the skills to make it happen?

Next month we're running something called Apps in August (original name, right?) where a group of students will be coming to Microsoft HQ to create some amazing apps for Windows 8. We're in the process of selecting the students who are coming in - and now our focus is turning to giving them some great ideas for applications they can design, build, and publish to the store.

So, we thought, why not match up students with app ideas to the students coming in for Apps in August?

Here's how it's going to work...

  1. Email an outline of your app idea along with your name and contact details to ukstu@microsoft.com
    1. Be as detailed but clear as you can be in this outline so that we can match you to the right person and get a good sense for what your app can do.
  2. Tell us in the email that you give us permission to pass your details on to one of our Apps in August students if/when we match your idea up.
    1. This is important. We can't match you to someone without it.
  3. If your idea is picked up, we will get in touch during the first week of August and introduce you to the person who will be developing your idea.

A few things to note...

  • We aren't here to seal your IP - the ideas you send us are yours, and we won't be using them ourselves and we'll make sure the people here for Apps in August don't work on your idea unless it's in conjunction with you.
  • We can't guarantee that, by sending us your idea, someone will definitely develop it.
  • We don't take responsibility for the outcome. We're just the matchmakers - it's down to you and whoever you work with to develop your app to make awesome things happen.

We look forward to seeing your ideas!
