Microsoft is helping students upgrade to the latest technology by sponsoring a program with a variety of computer hardware manufacturers. The essence of the deal is this: Buy a computer valued at $699 or higher and get a free XBox 360 “Slim” for free.  Students can buy on line but will need a .edu e-mail address, or you can go into your nearest Best Buy or Microsoft Store, flash your student ID and walk out with the goods on the spot.

You can buy any kind of PC or notebook, but eligible units will vary by participating retailer or location but include hardware by Samsung, HP and Dell.  For complete details, visit the Windows Steam Blog at: http://windowsteamblog.com/windows/b/windowsexperience/archive/2011/05/19/students-we-ve-got-you-covered.aspx
