And you thought, the buzz about iPhone died out!
We at Microsoft aren't just sitting on our butts watching Apple take away the device market! We are working to create the next coolest thing since iPhone!
Here's a sneak peak into bldg 117 - Microsoft's mobile mecca! Sneak Peak...
And watch this space for more excitement about the iPhone! :) Guaranteed you'll love your iPhone even more starting next Wednesday... ;)
Want to guess what it is??? :)
Steve Job's is not the richest man in the world nor is his company the biggest/richest company in the world! But still, it is one of the MOST Admired companies in the world! And this act of generosity tells you exactly what differentiates him from others. When the iPod Mini was launched, every employee got one...and now every Apple Employee get's an iPhone! How DARN COOL IS THAT!!! DANG!!
According to Timesonline.com "In a company-wide address to Apple workers Mr Jobs said that each of the firm's 20,000 odd employees would receive a $599 (£299) iPhone for free — a gift with a total retail value of $12 million, according to reports."
What is it that makes Apple a cult company? People are flocking in droves to buy this iPhone...sometimes, you really have to wonder if its really the Product or the maker of the product? Or if it's simply Steve Job's charisma... I adore this guy!
Now, if only SteveB decided to give all of his employees a Zune! Wishful thinking? Yeah, I guess so :(
I don't usually post fishy news, especially forwards without verifying! And, I didn't find anything misleading or false with these ad's...
Yeah, yeah, I snopes.com'd it before posting it here!
Here's what you need to know first:
These were published in South Africa...1. BMW started this Advertisement 2. Audi answered 3. Subaru needed to say something 4. Bentley wanted and had the last word
Wall street knows it, New Yorkers know it, the makers of Godzilla know it, the makers and takers of Viagra know it – Size does matter! We at Microsoft know it too! And everything we do, is done in a grand scale. Our launch parties, our revenues, our philanthropy (MS Employees only not Bill Gates!), our profits and now our parking garage!
We are building a parking garage that can house 5000 cars. The largest parking lot in the US! Read more about it HERE – I am sure some of us will miss the joy of valet parking! :) (Did you know that MS employees get valet parking?)
Seattle times: Microsoft is excavating what is billed as one of the largest underground parking garages in the U.S., which will hold some 5,000 vehicles on its Redmond campus. It's scheduled to be completed by mid-2008.
So the next time you come to ‘One Microsoft Way’ remember where you parked your car…coz, the darn parking lot will be HUGE!!

I’m in LOVE!!
A colleague of mine just sent me this funny pic! :))
It'll make a lot of sense if you have seen the movie 300
And, if you haven't seen the movie yet - You are missing a lot! I don't think there's any other movie with so many ab's on display! Yuck!
If there was a geek heaven on planet earth – It’d have to be Microsoft Research! I just love this place, it’s a Mensa congregation! The best brains in the industry converge at one place called building 114 in Microsoft (Redmond, WA).
Earlier today, I was talking to a former team mate who is still with MSR as a developer and he’s working on this really cool device called as Microsoft Response point (I wish the name was cooler! Darn MS legal!) Finally, we are bringing VoIP into the Enterprise! And, it couldn’t have been easier…
Essentially Response point is a very cool, simple state of the art PBX system designed for small businesses. Really, it’s that simple! Plug and play…
Here are some of the sailient features of Response point:
Here’s a great article about Response point from eWeek. For more information read my colleague, Robert Brown’s blog! And, this group is spearheaded by Xuedong Huang (XD) – If you are familiar with the speech industry this name needs no introduction. XD and Kai Fu Lee were both in the Speech Division at Microsoft. Both of them great leaders and a lot of fun to work with.
I miss working with that team, such a great bunch!
Creativeness knows no bounds! And, no e-commerce site is more creative than thinkgeek! If you are a true geek like me you’d already have spent a fortune in that store buying stuff that is ‘cool’ :)
Nothing beats waking up to the sounds and shrills of ‘The flying alarm clock’ Dang it!! I’m ordering one...now! Couple all that fun with a nice propeller-driven key which leaps off your bed-stand. Try sleeping through that racket! Here’s the best part – To turn the alarm off, you’d have to get out of the bed and plug it back into the alarm. There’s no way you’re going to bed after so much exercise.
Watch it in operation HERE!

Finally, here’s a great book about CardSpace written by the my colleagues Vittorio Bertocci, Garrett Serack and Caleb Baker. I was talking to Vittorio earlier this morning about CardSpace for Windows Mobile devices and he pointed me to his blog. It’s a great source of information if you want to learn anything about CardSpace (Including trivia, like if you are wondering why the raccoon on the cover page of this book – it’s HERE). Be sure to check his awesome blog at Vittorio Bertocci
Also, check out Marc Mercuri's book on CardSpace...these should be more than enough to make you experts on CardSpace.
