The Visual C++ team developed the Active Template Library (ATL) to allow COM clients and servers to be easily created while producing the smallest and fastest code possible.

Windows Template Library (WTL) extends ATL with a very rich set of class templates for building applications as simple or as complex as you can imagine.

In the December issue of MSDN Magazine, Kenny Kerr introduces you to some WTL 8.0 improvements -- such as task dialogs, Aero wizards, and new file dialogs -- that will accelerate adoption of these new features and ensure that you have even less code you need to write yourself!

Explore the sample code online, or grab the code download to explore on your computer.
