One of the very cool features of Silverlight that hasn't gotten the attention it deserves is the InkPresenter control, which enables Internet users to draw directly onto Silverlight applications from their browser.

In the August 2008 issue of MSDN Magazine, Julia Lerman builds an application with Silverlight 2 and the InkPresenter that lets users annotate a collection of images, perform handwriting recognition, save the annotations and recognized text to a server-side database, retrieve annotations for a selected image, and filter images based on their associated text.
