Hi everyone! This is Erica, and I'll post a bit more about myself next week but in the meantime I have a few questions for you.
As you may have noticed, we've placed a couple of boxes in the right-hand sidebar labeled "Helpful Links" and "Not-So-Helpful Links." The "Helpful Links" are pretty self-explanatory -- here's where you can find more information about Imagine Cup (if you don't already have it bookmarked) and Microsoft Learning -- but I reach out to all of you for some help with the second box.
My attention span isn't very long by any stretch of the imagination. Sometimes (very rarely) I'll work for hours without a break, but usually my workdays include several breaks to read email, catch up on the news and check out funny or interesting links my friends send me. I credit my friends for alerting me to the links currently in the "Not-So-Helpful Links" box. I'm not a particularly good cook, but I love watching cooking shows and FoodTube.net has lots of short videos made by budding Food Network superstars. (Warning: Don't watch these right before a meal -- they'll make you hungry!) The second link is an old favorite: I first discovered HomestarRunner.com back in college, and it's been a few years but I'm still a big fan. When I'm not watching videos and cartoons (or, you know, working), I'll keep up with tech news, say hi to my friends, and plan my trip home from work.
Which brings me to my questions for you. What sites do you use to unwind from schoolwork? What funny, enlightening or just plain stupid links should we add to that sidebar? Post your suggestions in the comments (nothing NSFW, please :-D) and we'll add a few of our favorites over the coming weeks.
