Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC) & licensing sites issues update

  • Comments 4

UPDATE: All Microsoft Volume Licensing business systems are back online! Yes, including VLSC!

For anyone that has attempted to reach the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC) website, Volume Licensing Contract Manager site, or Explore.MS recently and encountered issues, here is an update from the Licensing Team on what is happening and what you can expect:

As you are aware, Microsoft recently upgraded three web sites including Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center; Volume Licensing Contract Manager, and Explore.MS.  These tools are to help you provide services to your customers. In standard systems testing, we encountered an issue with the registration system, which we are currently fixing. The result is that the systems are currently offline.

Our goal is to have the sites available starting late in the day on December 17, 2009 Pacific Time through December 18, 2009 Pacific Time.

We would like to apologize for the inconvenience this is causing. As a valued partner, we understand that your experience trying to access the site is not optimal.

While there are limited capabilities,

  • Customers can still retrieve product keys during this maintenance. You can direct customers to the Product Activation Call Centers for assistance You can also find a phone number for your region HERE
  • Your Licensing Sales Specialist can assist with providing quotes as you interact with your customers
  • Paper agreements will be accepted by the Regional Operations Center
  • The Regional Operations Center will have limited ability to support queries during this period

We will continue to provide regular updates and look forward to doing continued business together.

I will continue to provide any updates I receive regarding this situation and provide them to you.

  • you have got to be kidding me...less than optimal? If you purchase a product from a company and they fail to deliver the goods and services; this is fodder for a class action suit.

  • What's wrong with microsft?! This is ridiculous. Let us know how many people will get fired because of this, other than that I am wordless.

  • @ angry customer - I understand your frustration not being able to access the download directly after purchase; however, we in no way had any intention on not delivering your product.  In fact, VLSC is back online and you do have access to your downloads already.  Again, our apologies for the delay.

  • @ Norris - The VLSC site is already back online, before your comment was even posted.  If you go to VLSC at this time, you have full access to all of your information.
