Now Shipping: PDC05 Post-Show DVD Set

  • Comments 12

If you attended PDC05 in Los Angeles earlier this year, you'll be happy to know that the 4-disc post-show DVD set is shipping out today. As I've mentioned in prior posts, this package will automatically be sent to attendees at no additional cost. If you weren't able to attend, you can still order your own set online. The DVDs contain 209 breakout sessions, panels, and symposia in addition to Channel 9 video content that was produced for the event. So, watch your mailbox closely for a black mailer (pictured) over the next week or so.

To view the sessions online or download them for offline viewing, you can do that here. We've committed to hosting the content for free, for anyone, for six full months.

If you have suggestions about how we can improve the online and/or DVD experience next time, or if you think we did something right this time, please leave a comment. We produce these kits for you, and your feedback is very important.

  • The posted content has been great. There were so many sessions I could not attend due to conflicts. The one thing I have missed on viewing the sessions is the abilty to navigate more directly. It would be nice next time to support scrubbing using a media player scroll control, or at least FF and RW controls along with back/forward buttons that jump 5 minutes or so. There have been times where I wanted to get back to the middle of a demo or backup to repeat a part of a session and the current topic bookmarks can be too far apart. But, the current presenation is very functional for seeing sessions that were missed. Next time I can miss more sesions without worry and spend more time in the lounges and networking with others.

  • 499$ USD (+ VAT). Yeah!!!

I think there must be a type. 49.9$ USD sounds more like the right price.

And even that, that would be for someone who does not know the sessions are available online.
  • anon: rather than re-addressing the details here, I'd recommend reading through this post on Channel 9: http://channel9.msdn.com/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=136051
  • If these had been recorded by Doug Kayes conversation network those of us that could not afford the disk could listen in online but I suppose that did not happen?
  • Do the DVDs includes the ctp / betas bits as well (office12)?
    Thanks.
  • Pierrot: The post-show DVDs contain only the presentations; there are no installable bits included in the package.
  • Thanks for the answer. I was considering buying the DVDs. How can I get hold of the Installable bits, most importantly for me (office 12). I've tried everything I know of. Do you have any idea? thanks, vm.

  • Pierrot: sorry, but "The Goods" package of installable bits was only available to PDC05 attendees. We didn't produce any extras.
  • I went to the pdc and live in Australia and haven't received anything yet.... Who should i contact at MS to confirm my shipment?
    Thanks
  • PDC Attendee: use the "Contact" link on the left to send me your information, and I'll see if I can find anything out for you.
  • Our PDC DVDs arrived in the UK today - December 2nd. I know this wasn't a fluke because two of us in the office attended and both DVD sets arrived in the same post. Perhaps shipping to international attendees could use a method that takes less than three weeks? It would be an excellent use for Avalanche!
  • Happy New Year,

I was wondering if you can help on this, I still did not recieved my DVD set which it supposed to be in my mail box 8 weeks after the conference.

Is there any contact number that I can call and follow up on my package?

    Much appriciated.
