Last night, when SecurityGarden shared the link to this and your Google+ link, I was in the middle of posting a comment here when our electricity went out. So I didn't get this posted last night.

I have also been having trouble with Google+ .. I was one of the Beta Testers for Google+ and now have nothing to show for it. My account was suspended, and then I couldn't get to my GMail account and had to remove the Google+ part in order to salvage my email. I have talked about this over at my Bambi CNIRadio blogger blog here: bambicniradio.blogspot.com/.../google-plus-snafu.html

Thanks for posting this and if you can help in any way now that you are now back online with Google+, it would be greatly appreciated.

Corrine gave me your information since I was suspended for violating the names policy at Google+ and had to totally remove my Google+ side of the account so I could use my GMail. My GMail wouldn't work until I did that.

I am still fight the situation even though they have finally said I am not violating the name policy. Sigh...

I don't use it accept in my signatures maybe simply because of all of the hostility on the internet. That's probably why you display an alias as well?

I've encountered the same problems. Facebook at least let me use my professional name in quotes between my legal first and last, but Google would have none of it.

So I'm not using the service anymore, although I have an account with the name on the driver's license.

Sorry, fans, if you don't know the name my parents gave me, I guess you'll just have to check me out on Facebook and not Google...

As for what will happen if you get too much notoriety, I’m not sure much will happen to you WRT your name on MSDN.

Well for the Microsoft folks who blog here, isn't it required for them to use their real names? I see that most people over here do. Fr instance, you can probably figure out that this is one of my aliases on here in the comments. If I get lots and lots of recognition here, then am I going to have to change it?

Thanks for the perspective. I like the concept presented by the Acer Iconia, and the dock that is often bundled with the Samsung Series 7 slate PC. Personally, today I like the design and durability of my HP EliteBook 2740p tablet convertible, preferring to have the keyboard when I need it but using the slate form factor as appropriate.

Sadly, the execution of that Iconia form factor was terrible; no-one has a good physically docking keyboard for a good slate - my next project is trying to hack one togeher for my Samsung 7 slate

Hi,

Some of us are having issues with out MS Outlook 2010 time not syncing with our machine clock.

My MS Outlook 2010 is showing 1 hour ahead. It's only happening to a few of us, and MS 2010 seems to be the common factor.

Any help would be highly appreciated!

Unfortunately, it's not that easy... particularly when the government in Ukraine (and apparently Armenia) just reversed their decision, as noted here: http://blogs.technet.com/b/dst2007/archive/2011/10/19/notice-ukraine-and-armenia-revert-2011-dst-cancellation.aspx. Deploying a hotfix, and then having to back it out is a major issue. It's difficult when countries make decisions at the last minute, and then change their minds a few days before the change.

Some days ago, I installed new Windows updates, and found out that all Russians timezones have changed.

This new timezones failed to convert times before 26.03.2011 2:00 to UTC correctly.

As I see, in all new Russians timezones BaseUtcOffset was increased by 1. And thay all has only one adjustment rule, which ends in 31.12.2010, and marks daylight saving time from end or march to end of october.

It would be correct for old value of BaseUtcOffset. But with increased BaseUtcOffset it forces TimeZoneInfo to add an wrong extra hour when convert time from UTC, and sub wrong extra hour when convert time to UTC.

To fix this error, it needs to keep old BaseUtcOffset in all Russian Time Zones, and add new adjustment rule, which strarts from 27.03.2011, ends, for example, in 31.12.9999 and marks daylight saving time for all year.

The interface is quite different from what customers are used to but I believe that once the learning curves are met everyone will enjoy this new version of Windows 8. I hope I will get a chance to beta test it to check for stability and bugs as I did for Windows 7

It should be called Microsoft Tablet, or Windows Tablet. Windows 8 should have, we'll - Windows!

If this is the future of Windows, I'm sticking to Se7en and UNIX. This OS on a Tablet - Perfect, on a computer with without touchscreen, crap..
