This article is the first of a series of articles on the improvement in the performance of Project Server. This first document describes good practices of the Project Server 2007 database maintenance, which primarily includes:

  1. The verification of the integrity of the BD
  2. Defragmenting indexes by reorganizing them or rebuilding them.
  3. The configuration of the "fill factor"
  4. Monitoring the size of the database

It includes tests in an environment of these features:

  • Project Server 2007 Services Pack 3
  • Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 with Services Pack 3
  • SQL Server 2005 with Service Pack 4 (important, do not apply this procedure if SQL Server SP2 was not applied )
