I checked to see the referrals to my blog posts. One of the referrals to my post the five stages of grief (iPhone edition) is from a search engine. The search term is 'pictures of the stages of death'. That's rather weird.
don't do that. You never really want to know where they come from.
That reminds me of Rory and his old "Google Weirdos" spot on DNR.
Or the time I wrote a post entitled "Fooling Around With the Atom API" and got an unGodly number of hits from sad people searching for "fooling around".
I'm guessing they were a bit disappointed.
I suppose that hitting some interesting search terms is one way to drive traffic to your site. I've got to figure out a way to work 'hot girl-on-girl action' into a post some day to see how that impacts my traffic. Actually, I probably don't need to go that far, since the words 'death' and 'pictures' don't appear anywhere in the referenced post.
Just mention that you're female in every post. Eventually, you'll get the perv searches too.
