With PDC05 "long" past, Microsoft are putting out a web developer/shop focussed event - MIX 2006. As the theme says it, it is the "Next Web (developer story) Now". MIX2006, like PDC is owned by DPE and is run by Steve Cellini - from what I hear - MIX might be the new PDC??

We've just opened registrations for mix06, a new event for web designers, developers and decision makers that revolves around web-based technologies from Microsoft (such as Atlas and more). The main goal for this year is communicate some of the things we're doing in this space and listen to what people are expecting out there. The "new wave" of web development - especially the client/browser-centric, with players in that space such as AJAX trying to taking center stage, this space is an important bet for Microsoft. The new innovation platform, Windows Live series of services (Windows+XBox+Office+...), show where we're putting our minds/heads/investment into - they are all geared toward pushing the Microsoft word of web-centric-application-services. Platform technologies such as ASP.NET "Atlas" and Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) are going to provide the platform for many UI centric web 2.0 applications. Other services platform technologies such as InfoCard are becoming more and more important in today's demand for seamless security driven applications.

MIX 2006, will cover all of the above and more. Don't miss the keynote by BillG.
