Recently, I became a proud owner of a Microsoft Smart Watch 2006 - this one made my Abacus. I must admit, this rev is really cool and formal looking watch. Microsoft had an internal deal going on for employees a few months ago and w/o further ado, I jumped on it. The main purpose of my purchase is to of couse consume the services provided by Microsoft-MSN Direct. But, also to program this device using our TinyCLR, .Net MicroFramework and SPOT SDK. A lot of new enhancements are being released in the upcoming release of .Net MicroFramework that are geared not only to writing apps to SPOT chip, but also to help support robot development. There's however ZERO support to developing apps for the smart watch via the framework for folks outside MSFT and very limited access to folks internal to MSFT. I am going to see how and what I can do around this space in the next coming months.
