The debate rolls on. I guess this must be the 11th year since Microsoft shipped its first IIS web platform. I remember installing the first beta version on NT Server 3.5.1 and thinking that this is pretty basic.

Things have moved on, on both sides and after a rocky road with security in 2001, great things emerged with IIS6 which is an amazingly stable and secure web platform. We are not standing still and with Windows Server Longhorn, later this year we will ship IIS7 for the server which is another major release for developers and IT Professionals.

Will it stop the debate on who is best ... hell no !!!

Bill Staples has just highlighted some of the exciting features in IIS7, "added to the debate" and answered why Apache users should certainly give IIS7 a close view.
