On channel9, it is WPF ( Windows Presentation Foundation ) week. This is being hosted by Tim Sneath and team.
One of the great interviews/demos that they did was with David Teitlebaum who takes the team on a tour of graphic applications that take advantage of the new and improved Effects, DirectX Interop, WriteableBitmap and more. He shows all the new capabilities in WPF 3.5 and WPF 3.5 SP1. The full path is here ( http://channel9.msdn.com/showpost.aspx?postid=403854 )
One of the cool new features is the possibility to have 2D objects accessible on a 3D surface. Pretty damm cool. I suggest you see it.
There is also an intro video on WPF 3.5 SP1 ( http://channel9.msdn.com/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=403758)
