About the New Zealand ISV Blog

 

The New Zealand ISV blog is managed by the Microsoft New Zealand Developer and Platform Strategy group and is used to talk about topics of interest to Independent Software Vendors based in New Zealand. 

In addition to blog posts, you will find information on how to partner with Microsoft, Frequently Asked Questions (and answers) and links to support, partner programme and contact information. Occasionally, we may even publish some guest content from the New Zealand ISV community. 

The Team.

The Developer and Platform Strategy Group in New Zealand is made up of Developer Evangelists, IT Professional Evangelists, Academic Advisors and various others. There are a number of people focussed on looking after Independent Software Vendors and these are:

 

Scott Wylie

Scott is the Director of the Platform and Strategy Group at Microsoft New Zealand. This means he has a keen interest in New Zealand ISVs (and what the rest of the team are doing to keep them happy). 

 

This is the official description of what Scott does:

"Scott and his team work to assist <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">New Zealand</st1:place></st1:country-region>’s local technical communities and the organisations they operate within to deliver solutions built upon the Microsoft’s platform.  This is achieved through ensuring organisations are aware of Microsoft’s vision for the future of software development and assisting them in partnering with Microsoft and adopting Microsoft’s tools and development platform".

 

Summarised, this means Scott likes nothing more than to see New Zealand ISVs being successful using Microsoft technology. 

 

Mike Zeff

Mike is a Developer Evangelist based in <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Auckland, New Zealand</st1:place></st1:City>. Mike understands Microsoft’s technology roadmap and specifically how it relates to development technologies. Mike works with New Zealand Independent Software Vendors (ISV) to understand their strategic product plans. Armed with that knowledge Mike communicates the opportunities that our newest technology can create for an ISV’s products, pain points and more importantly their customers. Mike can’t always help with nitty gritty support questions but once a shared vision is in place he may have an early adoption technology programme open that does!

 

Megan Reelick

Megan isn't in the Platform and Strategy Group and in fact belongs to the partner team (although she drinks as much coffee as the guys in the Platform and Strategy Group do). This means Megan is very interested in keeping New Zealand ISVs happy from a partnership point of view. Megan can help ISVs find the right Microsoft Partner Programme and sign up for Microsoft's ISV Royalty programme. Megan's passion is helping New Zealand ISV's grow and become successful in markets beyond New Zealand.
