PDC is coming up.  Surely you’ve heard about it.  It’s going to be a lot of fun, and where we’ll hear about what technologies we will be blogging about for the next 3.5 years.

This is the mind meld where Microsoft gives the world it’s going forward directions and commands – yes – in fact, this is the place that the conspiracy theorists have been warning us against.

Too many developers, and a very large venue, in Los Angeles.  Blog Bling 4

It will be easy for attendees to lose their focus, (lots of shiny things in L.A., and developers are easily distracted) so let me remind you what the important events are.

Sunday Night – SharePoint by Day, SharePint by Night!  Yes, Andrew Connell is holding another tour event in Los Angeles, and is organizing a SharePint event.  Right now, the location is still to be determined, so comment away and watch this space or any other SharePoint at PDC blogger…  all the cool kids will be there.   (that’s why I want to go!)

SharePoint Hands-On Labs – The USB hard drive that PDC is handing out to the attendees will include a SharePoint VPC image with ten (10) SharePoint Hands-On Labs on it.  It’s like juice for SharePoint kiddies.

SharePoint SessionsSee Paul Andrew’s blog post for the details about these sessions – he’s the man with the clipboard.  The cream of the crop are presenting here.  (That’s why I’m not…)

  • SharePoint 2007: Creating SharePoint Applications with Visual Studio 2008, Chris Johnson
  • SharePoint Online: Extending Your Service, Troy Hopwood
  • SharePoint 2007: Advanced Asynchronous Workflow Messaging, Alex Malek
  • FAST: Building Search-Driven Portals with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and Microsoft Silverlight, Jan Helge Sageflat and Stein Danielsen

(You should know that there’s almost nothing as good in the world as hearing talks about Search with a Norwegian accent.   After all, Norway is now the Search Capital of the World…)

I’ll see you at PDC!
