    HTML5 Apps 70-480

    Elevate! Electrify!

    image

Jeremy Foster and I had no idea what kind of response resulted from presenting our free training course to prepare for the 70-480 exam.  For example, who knew that our shirts (purchased from the Microsoft Store the day prior) would become so popular, people contacting both of us wondering where they could buy one?

That said, the real story is in the successful outcomes of those who watched the videos and then subsequently passed the exam.  Even more impressive to me personally is that some already have apps submitted to the Windows Store!  (Do you have an app in the store? If not, consider 30,000 reasons why you should submit your app now!)

    Time to Get Involved

imagePlease be part of my app experiment.  I recently submitted my first app to the Windows Store, and I want you to be involved.  No, I am not asking for you to pay for it, because it is free.  No, I am not asking for you to give it a high rating, as that would give me a false sense of the app’s real value and an unfair advantage for competing apps.  So what am I asking for?  And how can you benefit from getting involved?

How to Make 30K a Month

$$$  I am so driven now to get all my app ideas into the Windows Store.  A member of my team at Microsoft recently revealed to an internal (Microsoft-only) audience that he is now surpassing thirty thousand dollars a month from a card game he submitted.  Want to understand how he did it?  Well thankfully he has generously made this public knowledge and you can read all about it at his blog!

Time for me to get my apps submitted!  BTW, if you have your own app success story, please contact me and tell me about it!

    CES Today, CES Tomorrow…

I am heading to CES in Las Vegas, NV today.  This will be my first time going.  I have always wanted to go, especially since it has been considered the Super Bowl of new technology.  The Bing homepage showed CES as a trending term, so I checked it out.  I came across an article entitled “Why We’re Not At The Biggest Tech Show In The World” and was intrigued by the following quote:

    Build Your Game Today!

imageI have recently acquired GameMaker by Yo Yo Games for cross-platform game development. Among the supported platforms are Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8!

This gaming tool allows anyone with decent computer skills to develop a game rapidly. I recently lead  a group of students (many who had never written a single line of code before) to create a simple game in one hour. I could not believe how much the students accomplished in such a short period of time.

I highly recommend GameMaker, and suggest you start creating your game today! There is a free version of GameMaker available to download now.  However, I strongly suggest that you buy GameMaker:Studio Professional while it is 50% off (offer ends January 4th 2013).
