We are running into the same issue and are in fact running Kaspersky AV. Could you provide any details as to what tweaks you made to Kaspersky to get this working?

I have the same situation, and same exceptions are happening. Please, can you explain what you mean with:

"The problem was down to a config issue - the customer was using both his exchange servers and It looked like it gets returned when it tries to proxy to a server of the wrong version, they had two servers, both with a PF store - one is 2003 one is 2010 We disovered that the 2010 DB was pointing to a 2003 store so we repointed it to the 2010 PF store and connection using EWSEditor started working and so did the tests with the code."

and how this can be checked?

can you tell me what you mean by "we repointed it (the 2010 DB) to the 2010 PF store" How do I check and how do I fix. I am having the exact same error in a third party shared calendar application. Thanks.
