While finalizing designs for the Silverlight UX, the development team has stepped up and created a ASP.NET client to retrieve results from the Unified Search web service. After two weeks development the "lite" client is complete.
The ASP.NET client will serve as a web service test bed allowing the team to retrieve and manipulate results from the service, further refining the search experience. Additionally, it has allowed the development team to work out the kinks in connecting to the webservice and will serve as a foundational middle tier between the Silverlight client and the search webservice.
While not visible to the end user, the completion of this component is a small but important step toward making the Silverlight UX a reality.
