Last week was an interesting one, I spent my time in the land of the Motswana where people are very lively and very hospitable.
It’s in this land at the heart of Gaborone that I met a number great developers who are eager to learn, develop and move things. These developers are made of iron and are already moving things in their own capacity.
For example I met Kabelo one of the young developers who just finished college recently. Having been an Imagine cup finalist and packed with experience from Russia Kabelo has developed a Windows 8 app that would help the old get access to services. He plans to publish his app in the next coming month.
Also met Mr. Justice who having been a S.D.E. in the USA returned to Botswana to launch his innovative IQ quotations an application that helps with managing quotations intelligently. Currently this is being used worldwide and his entry into Botswana has created a lot of hype. He is working on a Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 clients for his application.
Justice like many other startups is open to recruiting your Botswanan’s to join his firm and help innovate and develop phone apps running on Windows platform.
There are many more stories to write about Botswana people like Alec, Patel & great partners developing amazing e-Gov solutions like CBS and others like ICL, IT IQ and Moro all developing innovative solutions for Botswana.
Thanks to Microsoft Innovation Center (MIC) Botswana through Botswana Innovation Hub for facilitating the development of young and local talent with required knowledge that has enabled them to be able to be creative and develop local solutions to solve Botswana’s problems.
