As I wrote in my previous post, I saw the Twitter Fail Whale several times this morning and then I bumped in this post at ReadWriteWeb.
It tells the story of the Fail Whale image and how this work of art from an unknown artist (Yiying Lu) became one of the symbols of Social Media.
What I find fascinating is how an image which is associated to failure (nobody’s happy to see this when they go to twitter, are they?) actually is becoming a success in its own right (see the Fail Whale Store, the Fan group website and the Fail Whale Facebook Group).
Kudos to Sean O'Steen, (@seanostee) for starting this and to Yiying Lu for what is actually a great piece of digital art.
