Samsung SUR40 with Microsoft PixelSensesamsunglfd.com/solution/sur40.do
I was just poking around this afternoon and spotted the following video out on Flickr. It's at the Darien Library, a hi-tech library in Connecticut. It looks like they just moved into their new building on Friday. [CORRECTION] They will be moving into their new library in January. Along with what looks like a large pile of Dell computers, they unboxed a Microsoft Surface unit. What I love about this video is how the woman, Kate, plays with the water using her scarf. There's genuine and absolute joy expressed by those "kids".
What would you like to use Microsoft Surface for at your local library if they had one?
Before we bid adieu to 2008, I thought we could take one more look at the Nintendo Wii balance board mashup that Stimulant did a while back. You can see the original demo video and I also chatted with Josh and Darren while out in San Francisco in the video below.
One of the great things about the Microsoft Surface platform is that you can use any peripherals you might use on a PC. That leaves the possibilities open to the imagination. The team at Stimulant definately has some imagination. What other peripherals would be great mashups with Microsoft Surface?
I'll have to admit, I'm probably a little slow on posting this one because I haven't had a chance to get out and see the movie myself. Microsoft Surface gives the tech heads and military some help in the blockbuster movie remake, The Day the Earth Stood Still. According to Register Hardware, it's a good 20-30 seconds of Surface goodness on screen. If anyone happens to spot any photos on the intertubes, let us know in the comments. I'm hoping to catch the movie over my holiday break.Cheers.Eric
