The Samsung SUR40 with Microsoft PixelSense took center stage this week during the 2012 Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) in Toronto. Crowds were noticeably impressed as Dave Brown joined Steve Clayton and Jon Roskill on stage to present the NUIverse application he designed and developed for the Samsung SUR40.
Partners also joined in on the action demonstrating their apps in the exhibition hall. Ben Reierson from Avanade started off by showing us the McDonald's, Olympics, and StockWatch applications.
Next, Christian Zauner from LieberLieber showed us the HARTL HAUS and Esri Heatmap applications.
Katy Hicks from Black Marble also showed us their Microsoft Retail and Black Marble Services applications.
Thanks to Dave, Ben, Christian, Katy, and all our partners for joining us at WPC 2012. For more Microsoft PixelSense related videos be sure to check out our YouTube page.
We got a SUR40 in April 2012. Our hope was to use it in an a higher ed setting. Unfortunately the technology (hardware and software) is so unreliable, 6 months in we are abandoning the project all together. I am trying to salvage the idea but I have no resources to figure out whats wrong with it. At this point, we essentially have an LCD PC that we must use a keyboard and mouse with that weighs 100lb and cost us 9k. Dissatisfied to say the least.
Kitchin: We have been working on Microfost Pixelsense (SUR40) surface from last 9 months even it was tough journey for us as well but now we were able to make a decent progress, do let me know if there is any specific issues that you were not able to solve we can share some of our experience.
