My new MSDN Magazine article Patterns & Practices: Speed Development With Custom Application Blocks For Enterprise Library is now online on the magazine web site. It appears in the July 2006 issue and demonstrates how to create a custom application block for Enterprise Library for .NET 2.0.
The sample application block implements functionality for discovering and loading plug-ins for an application. Obviously, for the sake of simplicity, I had to cut a few corners here and there, but I'm seriously considering creating and publishing a more production-ready version when time allows.
However, first I'm going to finish and release Service Locator 2.0, which is currently code complete, but still lacking some documentation, as well as sample code, packaging, etc.
