Automating the world one-liner at a time…
I was in an executive review today where a team was demonstrating their technology (don't ask for details, I won't provide any :-) ). At some point they brought up this beautiful graphic showing the geographic distribution of resources and then the graph was changing based upon the state of the resources. We were all drooling like idiots when I happened to look at the title bar which said: "PowerGadgets"!!! You could have knocked me over with a feather.
It really proved what I told the PowerGadgets team - people are going to love PowerGadgets because it makes them look awesome. More precisely, because it is so easy to look so awesome. So if you are bucking for a promotion and have an executive review coming up - consider using PowerGadgets in your demo. :-)

I have just one question :)
How is it possible to launch an application without blocking powershell ?
(launch application in a different process ? how ?)
When you use powergadgets, the gadget is shown and you can continue to use powershell line, how it works ? :)
I used the scores from the Scripting Guys 2006 Scriting Games to map the data to a World map:
These are just exported images. Actually running PowerGadgets locally would provide load of more information like mouse-over, and shading!
PowerGadgets also provides an excellent support forum.
Most of my experience with PowerGadgets is with the out-map cmdlet, so I'll specifically talk about that one now.
It does not block the PSH command-line. I can speak technically for how it exactly works, but I do know that once you call out-map to draw a map, your command-line returns very quickly, and a new PowerGadgetsPresenter.exe process will start up (and remain running). I think it is that process that actually displays the graphical data, hence leaving PSH to continue doing its work.
