  • ** Update **

"Got "Windows Update Standalone Installer: Installer encountered and error: 0x8007000d, The data is invalid". I'm using Vista Ultimate SP1 x64. Just did a fresh install and completed all updates, upgraded to Installer 4.5 and .Net Framework 3.5."

It finally worked! After 10 more tries, the only change I made was to go to this site: and found out that my Office 2k7 hadn't been properly activated. After activating it, Powershell seemed to install without a hitch. Coincidence???

  • ...I doubt that was it. My office 2k7 is properly activated. (and I just rechecked) and I'm getting the same error code. "0x8007000d The data is invalid. " on Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit SP1.

  • Hey if any of you are getiing the error "0x8007000d The data is invalid. " then try emptying your history and temp internet folder and then download. It worked for me.I have Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit SP1.

  • Still getting "The update does not apply to your system" error when trying to setup the file!!!

    Any updates on this subject?

  • Hello,

i have a windows vista home premium on my computer.

How can I get the Power shell for that computer?

trying to install it from Microsoft is impossible.

--> wrong system (no vista business or server)

or should I reinstall XP again?
