TechEd Webcast Available – PowerShell: The Future of Server Administration

  • Comments 7

Last week Don Jones gave a great talk at TechEd: Microsoft Windows PowerShell: The Future of Server Administration. Here is the abstract:

Windows PowerShell is Microsoft's next generation command line scripting solution which combines the interactivity of KSH or BASH, the programmability of Perl or Ruby and the production-orientation of AS400 CL or VMS DCL. Come and learn about the basic capabilities of Windows PowerShell as an interactive shell environment and a rich scripting engine and how it can be used to highlight and exploit the manageability improvements in Windows Server codename "Longhorn."

This was a VERY well received talk. It was held twice in the "big" room. I attended the first session at it was very well attended. The feedback scores rated this talk at the top of the track. Dmitry Sotnikov joined Don and did a great demo of his free AD Cmdlets.

Are you feeling sad that you missed it? Don't! They also webcast it and that recording is now available HERE.   <I fixed the link (sorry).  jps 6/1/2007>

  • Please let us know if this becomes available someplace where I don't have to login three times and install new software just to watch it.

You did have the option to buy a airplane ticket to travel to Florida, pay ~$2K for registration, then pay for meals, hotel, etc and you can watch Don give the talk in person.  Reasonable people can disagree but when you consider the options, I personally conclude that having to install a viewer and login a couple times is a GREAT deal.
