Automating the world one-liner at a time…
Have you see the totally cool new ads for Windows server 2008 at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/us/serverunleashed/default.html ?
This is one of the best things I think I've ever seen our Marketing dept ever developed and they feature this awesome looking robot:
3 cheers to the superstars in Microsoft Marketing!
I just LOVE this guy! I've decided to declare him the informal PowerShell mascot. Stick a flag on him - he's ours. :-)
After all, what conveys automation better than a robot?
The problem is that I can't think of a good name for him. That's where you come in. What should we name him? (I'm open to being convinced that it is a her but if you watch the way this thing moves, I think you'll agree that it is a guy).
There is no prize besides fame and our eternal goodwill but it is a worthy thing to contribute to.

My submission: "PowerShell Pete"
Этот робот с рекламного сайта Windows 2008 теперь является талисманом (”mascot”) PowerShell’а :) ...
I'd keep the name in the PowerShell commandlet format. I was thinking something like Ted-PowerShell.
Why not call him 'PoSH'? 'PoSH the Robot' has a nice ring to it.
It's pretty obvious that he's already been labeled "IT 24-7" (Schproder to his friends).
How about calling it 'Shelley'.
Excuse me? It's just a friggin' robot. Let's not slobber all over our blogs about a product that nobody is going to use in real production until Service Pack 1 arrives, probably early 2009. Study it. Sure. Understand it. Sure. But keep your panties dry for cryin' out loud. :-)
Excuse me. I have some SharePoint workflow code to write now.
a PoSHy Bot !
Oh wait . . .
Probably not very creative, by I like PowerBot.
How about PoSH Spice.
Ähmm, maybe that's already in use so not a good idea.
No, it's a PoSH-Bot.
Maybe, Robbie ?
Or something link get-name?
Ok, "The Scripting Guy" team has Dr. Scripto
This could be something like "AShellErator"
Being this a Microsoft world, I would also suggest something like:
Microsoft Interactive Humanoid 2008 Ultimate Edition
