Today I am very very excited about Windows Azure SDK 1.7 release. You can find a great article on ScottGu blog here - Meet the New Windows Azure. There is none I think of, who can put such a great blog post other than Scott.

Ah, why am I so excited about this release - because I am part of the Distributed Cache team which is "one of the really cool features" [As quoted by Scott :)]. Distributed cache is truely elastic and has many features of the on-prem AppFabric Cache Server like [Hight Availability, Local Cache etc]. It also supports memcached protocol. If you are new to AppFabric caching check this.

Apart from Cache, there are many many exciting improvements that you can find in this release. The Windows Azure portal experience is amazing, very sleek design [fell in love with it, the first time I experienced it]. Do watch the keynote at MeetWindowsAzure.
