The white paper, RD Session Host Capacity Planning in Windows Server 2008 R2, is now live on the Download Center.  This white paper describes the most relevant factors that influence the capacity of a given deployment, methodologies to evaluate capacity for specific deployments, and a set of experimental results for different combinations of usage scenarios and hardware configurations.

  • I will have a look in this.,

  • Not sure why it is prudent to require a comment to download the whitepaper, but here you have it.

  • Can anyone explain why the test RD session host was set up with RAID 5 drives for the page file and and user data?  Everything I've ever read about performance says not to put the page file on a RAID 5 drive because of the poor write performance.  Same would apply for user profiles I would imagine as it would be fairly write intensive.

  • I have the same question as HotRod. This box has one job to do and it should be optimized for maximum performance.

  • Looking forward to viewing this document.

  • is there not a windows 2012 version of a capacity planner, hardware requirements?

might as well give this a read

  • I'm looking forward to looking at this document. Thanks so much.
