Hi, Klaas here again. I wanted to point out the showcase videos we produced to help explain some of the great features we’ve shipped in Windows Server 2012 Remote Desktop Services. In May I provided an overall functionality overview where the following videos focus on a specific area and include demos to help explain the key features we provided.
· Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Overview – Summary of the value of Remote Desktop Services in Windows Server 2012
· Quick VDI Wizard – Set up a virtual machine based deployment on a single server.
· Set up an RDS VDI deployment – Set up a virtual machine-based deployment.
· Set up an RDS session deployment – Set up a session-based deployment.
· RemoteFX – Learn about the enhancements made for end user discovery and experience.
I hope these videos help clarify some of the key features we provided in Windows Server 2012. If there are specific features that you would like to see covered in a video, please do comment on this post.
Note: Questions and comments are welcome. However, please DO NOT post a request for troubleshooting by using the comment tool at the end of this post. Instead, post a new thread in the RDS & TS forum. Thank you!
Nice videos. Thanks
Really nice to see the enhancements with the RemoteFX over a wan link.
Nice way of delivering applications remotely.
I set up a Win 2012 Data Center/Hyper-V system with 4 servers: License Server, RD Gateway+Broker+RDWebApp, and 2 Servers for session host (one for RemoteApps and one for Remote Desktop Sessions).
The RemoteApps do not work if they are installed on one of the Session hosts (instead of the RDGateway)
I spent almos a month with Microsoft Support and they don't have a solution yet. Can you please confirm that it is a supported scenario?
Hi, we have already Hyper-V servers in a cluster environment and we want to deploy VDI, for that we create 2 servers in one of them we installed RDWebAccess, and WebAccessGateWay. In the other server we deploy the Connection Broker and LICENSE SERVER, and we plan to use the Hyper-V servers as our RDSessionHosts. The problem was presented when we try to connect to the RDSessionHosts to manage the virtual infrastructure based on them. We receive an error message saying that we dont have any LICENSE SERVER to use! We have a license server and licenses but we cannot use them! Even we installed the license server in the Windows server 2012 Hyper-V servers and the problem persist.
We have covered the common RD Licensing Server discoverability related troubleshooting in the article "RD Licensing Configuration on Windows Server 2012" (blogs.technet.com/.../rd-licensing-configuration-on-windows-server-2012.aspx)
I'd request you to please have a look at the above article and if you still have questions, please feel free to leave a comment either under the above article or preferably in the RDS & TS forum (social.technet.microsoft.com/.../threads).

I'd request you to post a new thread in the RDS & TS forum (social.technet.microsoft.com/.../home) for quicker responses. It'd be helpful if you could include more information w.r.t. how the deployment was created and what was it validated.
